  • Kids [and their families] are invited to come to the Oriental Centre on Saturday August 25 to enjoy a fun program – from 2:00 till 3:30 p.m. that afternoon.

    There will be demonstrations at a science station.  See the scientist transform some typical laboratory activities into interactive learning experiences the kids will enjoy, as they learn.

    There will also be an art workshop – where children of all ages will enjoy working with clay in some imaginative and enjoyable craft projects.

    There will be free loot bags, handed out on a first come – first served basis, while supplies last.

  • Taste of Western China will offer special prix fixe lunches and dinners as part of this popular food promotion organized by the City and participating restaurants.

    Their Summerlicious specials will be available from Friday July 6 until Sunday July 22. It’s a great time to come to this Restaurant, whether you are a first-time or returning customer. We think you will find their food, service and prices to be appealing.

    This is the first time Taste of Western China has been part of Summerlicious. Their management and staff look forward to welcoming you and your family and friends. Reservations will be accepted from June 21 – simply call the Restaurant at 416-628-8966.

    Taste of Western China is conveniently located at 4365 Sheppard Avenue East – just west of Brimley Road and east of Midland Avenue. TTC buses run on all of these major streets and the Restaurant is also close to Highway 401 (exit at either Kennedy or McCowan).

    Sheppard East Village BIA is pleased to support the City’s annual Summerlicious food festival and we invite you to enjoy it at Taste of Western China.

  • This picnic takes place from noon until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday June 9 -– in the park by the Burrows Hall Community Centre at Sheppard + Progress Avenues, just east of Markham Road.

    There will be games and attractions for kids of all ages, as well as music and dances to entertain everyone enjoying this picnic.

    Other attractions include delicious food, a silent auction and a variety of crafts, as well as fire, ambulance and community displays and information.

    This is the 21st annual picnic  - organized by the Community Police Liaison Committee and the dedicated officers of nearby 42 Division Police.

    Any surplus from this event will help fund local youth and community programs - including awards and scholarships for area students, after-school groups and the annual Toy Drive - supported by the Committee and officers.

    42 Division serves the people and businesses in the east end - from Victoria Park Ave. to Port Union Road and from Highway 401 to Steeles Avenue.

    TTC buses on Sheppard Avenue and Markham Road make it easy to come to the picnic by transit.  Parking near the picnic is free, for those driving.

  • The businesses and shops of the Oriental Centre welcome you and your family and friends to enjoy their Mother’s Day Celebrations – on Sunday May 13, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. – on the main floor stage in their building at the northeast corner of Brimley & Sheppard.

    Among the attractions will be fiddle playing....tap dancing....a magic show....Thai cultural dancing....

    and some talented singers – all of whom look forward to entertaining you.

    There will also be an appealing give away for one lucky winner – as well as lucky draw prizes for all who attend this popular annual event.

  • Everyone is invited to a free Community Picnic on June 10 – from noon to 5:00 p.m. – in the park grounds around the Burrows Community Centre on Sheppard Ave., just east of Markham Road.

    TTC bus service on Sheppard East and on Markham Road makes it easy to take transit to this fun event.

    Parking near this community picnic is also free.

    Delicious food, lots of entertainment, games and attractions for kids of all ages, a silent auction, a draw, bike safety workshops and other attractions await you and your family on June 10.

    This great annual Picnic is organized by the dedicated officers of our local Police 42 Division and the volunteer members of the 42 Division Community Police Liaison Committee.

    Proceeds from this enjoyable Picnic will help fund other programs – including awards and scholarships for area students; after-school student groups; other youth opportunities; and the annual 42 Division Auxiliary Christmas Toy Drive – organized and supported by the officers and Committee.

    42 Division serves the people, businesses and communities in the east end of Toronto – from Victoria Park Ave. to Port Union Road and from Steeles Avenue to Highway 401.  We are safe and well protected by the officers and staff who serve with Police Superintendent Kim Yeandle.

    After this great Community Picnic on June 10, we invite everyone to come west a couple of blocks to enjoy the foods, restaurants and shops of Sheppard East Village BIA. 

  • On Saturday May 13/17 - from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. - everyone is invited to enjoy the annual Open House at our local 42 Division Police station.  The Station is located nearby, at 242 Milner Avenue (one block west of Markham Road and one block north of Highway 401).   

    Our neighbourhoods are safe and well served by the dedicated officers and staff of 42 Division, working with Superintendant Kim Yeandle.

    42 Division serves all of the people, businesses and community organizations in a large part of the east end – from Victoria Park Avenue to Port Union Road and from Highway 401 to Steeles Avenue.  This Open House, on May 13, is part of Police Week in Toronto.

    The Open House is an interesting event and everyone is welcome to drop in.  There will be tours of the Police Station and displays of some of the vehicles and equipment used by the officers.  As well, there will be opportunities to chat with the Police officers who work so well in and for our neighbourhoods. There will also be electronic fingerprinting for the kids and a free barbeque for visitors to the Station.

    The Open House is supported by the 42 Division Community Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and the Chinese Community Liaison Committee (CCLC) – committees of police officers and dedicated volunteers from neighbourhoods throughout the area served by 42 Division.

  • One seasonal favourite in our neighbourhood is the annual Christmas concert performed by the talented choir, orchestra and band of this Senior Public School.

    To accommodate their audience, this concert will take place in the auditorium of Agincourt Collegiate.  The SAM concert will get underway at 7:00 p.m. - on Thursday December 15

    While there is no admission, you are invited to drop off a non-perishable item that will be given to the food bank of Agincourt Community Services.

    The students and staff of SAM wish everyone the best of the holiday season. 

  • Another seasonal event in our neighbourhood - that always draws a very large crowd - is the Christmas concert performed by the award-winning orchestras, bands and choirs of Agincourt Collegiate Institute.

    This year’s concert will take place in the ACI auditorium – starting at 6:00 p.m., on Sunday December 11.

    The students and staff of ACI would be pleased to welcome you to this annual concert that will help everyone get into the spirit of the holiday season.
