You’re Welcome at the Open House

On Saturday May 13/17 - from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. - everyone is invited to enjoy the annual Open House at our local 42 Division Police station.  The Station is located nearby, at 242 Milner Avenue (one block west of Markham Road and one block north of Highway 401).

Our neighbourhoods are safe and well served by the dedicated officers and staff of 42 Division, working with Superintendant Kim Yeandle.

42 Division serves all of the people, businesses and community organizations in a large part of the east end – from Victoria Park Avenue to Port Union Road and from Highway 401 to Steeles Avenue.  This Open House, on May 13, is part of Police Week in Toronto.

The Open House is an interesting event and everyone is welcome to drop in.  There will be tours of the Police Station and displays of some of the vehicles and equipment used by the officers.  As well, there will be opportunities to chat with the Police officers who work so well in and for our neighbourhoods. There will also be electronic fingerprinting for the kids and a free barbeque for visitors to the Station.

The Open House is supported by the 42 Division Community Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and the Chinese Community Liaison Committee (CCLC) – committees of police officers and dedicated volunteers from neighbourhoods throughout the area served by 42 Division.

For further information about activities and information available at the Open House, please contact

42 Division Community Services Office - at 416-808-4220 or 416-808-4251.

And after the Open House, you are welcome to come north a couple of blocks and enjoy the food, restaurants and shops throughout Sheppard East Village BIA.

Sir Alexander Mackenzie Christmas Concert

One seasonal favourite in our neighbourhood is the annual Christmas concert performed by the talented choir, orchestra and band of this Senior Public School.

To accommodate their audience, this concert will take place in the auditorium of Agincourt Collegiate.  The SAM concert will get underway at 7:00 p.m. - on Thursday December 15

While there is no admission, you are invited to drop off a non-perishable item that will be given to the food bank of Agincourt Community Services.

The students and staff of SAM wish everyone the best of the holiday season.

Agincourt Collegiate Christmas Concert

Another seasonal event in our neighbourhood - that always draws a very large crowd - is the Christmas concert performed by the award-winning orchestras, bands and choirs of Agincourt Collegiate Institute.

This year’s concert will take place in the ACI auditorium – starting at 6:00 p.m., on Sunday December 11.

The students and staff of ACI would be pleased to welcome you to this annual concert that will help everyone get into the spirit of the holiday season.

When you are next in Sheppard East Village, we think you will like the winter floral displays that were recently installed throughout our BIA.

These attractive greens are on display in 64 hanging baskets and in 30 planters – from Midland Avenue to Markham Road.

We hope you enjoy these floral displays throughout the holiday season and until the spring of 2017.

The Board of Management and members of Sheppard East Village BIA are pleased to arrange and finance these floral displays - that always help beautify the community we all share.

You will also notice our attractive new banners, featuring 9 more BIA members whose photos and profiles have also been added to this Sheppard East Village website and are included in 45,000 new 2017 brochures that have been widely distributed in nearby residential communities.

We thank the 9 other BIA members whose photos and profiles were featured in our 2016 promotional materials – whose stories are still available on this website.
